Best Screener Settings

Screener Settings

A screener is when you apply a filter onto a list of stocks. This gives you a final list of stocks that meet your prerequisites. We break down what each individual screener setting is in "fundemental analysis basics" nonetheless the possible setups in this post are all successful.

Buy and Hold Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Click on "all" and change market cap to Micro over 50 million (this filters out all penny stocks)
  4. Click on "price above SMA 20"
  5. Click on "beta over 1.5"
  6. Click on "EPS growth over next 5 years over 10%)
  7. Click on "ROE over 15%)
  8. Click on "Current ratio over 1.5)

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. The benefit of this screener is that a majority of the filtered stocks should be slow and steady gainers.

In addition if you feel that your list is too long you can adjust any of the settings and make them more rigorous. Ex: You could adjust the EPS growth to 15%.

At the bottom of the filters are different applications that give you different data points like performance and technicals, in addition hovering over the ticker will give you a snapshot of what the chart is doing.

Stock Overbought Bounce Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Go into all and make the stock price over 5$
  4. Make the RSI "oversold (30)"
  5. Make the "change" set to "up"
  6. Set the relative volume to "over 2"

What this setup allows is a filter saying that these are stocks that went down too much, are beginning to correct due to the irrational movement down, and people are getting interested and it is heating up.

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. Be patient with these as some will act like they are correcting but wind up continuing to fall, waiting for confluence using other systems.

Stock Breakout Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Go to all and make price "above 20 day SMA"
  4. Make price "above 50 day SMA"
  5. Make price "above 200 day SMA"
  6. Make 50 day high/low "new high"
  7. Make Return on Equity "over 20%"
  8. Make Debt to Equity Ratio "under 1.0"
  9. Make average volume "over 100,000" (this can be tweaked if you have a large list)

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. What this list gives you are stocks that potentially are ready to break key resistance and are possibly going to make a rapid move up. This list requires patience and confluence.

Stock Moving Average Bounce Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Go to all and make price "above 20 day moving average"
  4. Make price "below 50 day moving average"
  5. Make average volume "over 400,000"
  6. Make relative volume "over 1"
  7. Make current volume "over 2,000,000"

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. What this list provides are stocks that went down and are looking for the move upwards using the MA as a bounce.

Stock Dividend Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Go to all and make market cap "over 10 billion"
  4. Make dividend yield "positive over 0%"
  5. Make P/E "under 20"
  6. Make EPS growth over 5 years "over 5%"
  7. Make payout ratio "under 50%"
  8. Make PEG "low under 1"
  9. Make EPS growth next year "over 5%"

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. This is one of the more miscellaneous screeners as it provides all stocks that have growth potential while paying dividends. Use confluence to figure out what the growth potential is.

Stock High Growth Setups

If any of the below settings don't make sense you can hover over the name of what you want to learn and it will explain.

  1. Go to Finviz.com
  2. Go to the Screener
  3. Go to all and make price "above 200 day moving average"
  4. Make average volume "over 400,000"
  5. Make EPS growth for the year "over 25%"
  6. Make EPS growth for the quarter "over 25%"
  7. Make EPS growth for the next year "over 25%"
  8. Make sales qtr or qtr "over 25%"
  9. Make RSI "not overbought less than 50"

Once this is applied it will give you a FILTERED LIST not guaranteed winners. You can now use other strategies that are either in Evolve or elsewhere to find the winners or losers in your list. This list provides some insane value buys for great earning potential. Most of these are solid buys but once again build confluence.
